What is SMS Banking / Missed Call facility?
Saraswat bank has introduced SMS based services along with Missed call facility to request or process your account related information on smart phones as well as feature phones. SMS Banking & Missed Call services bring the Banking at your fingertips.
Who can avail this facility?
All the Saraswat Bank customers having Savings, Current & Overdraft account Term deposit & loan account may avail this facility whose mobile number is registered with the bank.
Do I have to register my mobile number to use this facility?
Yes, it is mandatory to register your mobile number with Saraswat Bank.
Which alerts are offered under SMS Banking facility?
Following alerts are offered under SMS Banking facility-

Is it mandatory to register for SMS Banking facility?
Yes, it is advisable to register for this facility as it provides all the operational & transactional alerts of your accounts. Further, SMS Alerts usually act as an early warning system for any suspicious activity in your account.
How to register a Mobile Number with Saraswat Bank?
Visit any Saraswat Bank ATM & get registered your mobile number by selecting ‘Register Mobile Number’ option or visit your nearest branch with prescribed form (Digital Channel Registration Form) to register your mobile number with Saraswat Bank.
I have not received any SMSs / OTP from Saraswat Bank since I opened the account or I am unable to receive any alerts from Saraswat Bank.
Ensure that you have enough network connectivity in your mobile. Restart your mobile.
Confirm with any of nearest branch that, you have registered for your own valid mobile number.
Visit any Saraswat Bank ATM, insert your card in ATM machine & get re-registered your mobile number by selecting ‘Register Mobile Number’ option or Visit your nearest branch & fill up the required form to register your mobile number with Saraswat Bank.
Check with your Service provider whether your mobile number has been registered under DND i.e. Do Not Disturbed option.
Check with your service provider to confirm your Message settings & Network related issues.
Is there any technical requirement or mobile handset capabilities to receive these alerts?
No, you may use any java based phone or any smart phone, provided handset is installed with active sim card wherein the said mobile number is registered with Saraswat Bank & which is under adequate network coverage.
Can I have more than 1 account linked for the facility?
Yes, all accounts linked to your Customer ID can be linked to this facility.
Can I have more than 1 mobile number registered for the facility?
No, only one mobile number you can register for this facility.
Can I register my mobile number for my family member’s customer id?
Yes. But it is advisable to register your mobile number to your own customer ID only for seamless functioning of other Digital products & services.
Is there any minimum amount of transaction below which I will not receive any message alert from bank?
Yes, you may receive message from Saraswat Bank only for any debit or credit transaction above Rs.5000/-. However, you can still receive all the mandatory alerts as per RBI guidelines.
Which are the mandatory alerts to receive SMSs?
As per RBI guidelines mandatory alerts include alerts for debit cards transactions (ATM/ POS/ Online), Internet Banking Transactions, Mobile Banking transactions, UPI transactions, Beneficiary/ Payee Registration & OTP (One time password).
Do I incur any expenditure when I request any service by sending SMS for e.g. balance enquiry / last 3 transactions / cheque status enquiry etc?
Yes, the normal tariff of mobile service operators applies when you send a SMS.
Is there any charge for this service from Saraswat Bank point of view?
No, SMS banking & Missed call service come to you totally Free of charge. Saraswat Bank will not charge you any maintenance charge for the same. However, the normal tariff of mobile service operators applies when you send a SMS.
Is there any need to activate my data network plan to use this facility?
No, there is no need to activate any data network plan. You may use this facility on your mobile without data network service.
I have sent text message to given number for e.g. Balance enquiry, but I have not received any information from Saraswat Bank?
Ensure your correct mobile number is registered with the Bank
Check the network status of your mobile
Confirm the syntax which you have sent to given number
The keywords are case sensitive
There should be only one space between the words, if any
Check with your Service provider whether your mobile number has been registered under DND i.e. Do Not Disturbed option
Can I change my mobile Number and still continue to avail the service?
Yes, you may change your mobile number by updating the same through ATM or personally by visiting your nearest branch, fill up the given format & submit the same to the counter.
Is there any time period to use this facility?
No, this facility is active for 24*7.
