  1. Auto-lock your phone and never leave phone unlocked/unattended.
  2. Verify application permissions and grant only those permissions which have relevant context for the app’s purpose.
  3. Install a trusted security software. Also, in phone/tablet settings, do not enable installation of apps from “untrusted sources”.
  4. Save phone/sensitive data using lock code apps /vaults.
  5. Turn the encryption on. It is usually found under security settings.
  6. Record the unique 15-digit IMEI number. You will need it if you lose your phone.
  7. Do not reveal account/credit/debit card details, date of birth/OTP/address etc. to anyone over a call/message/Email.
  8. Report fake/unexpected calls/messages to TRAI by using their mobile app TRAI DND 2.0.
  9. Be cautious while clicking links in SMS/Messengers/Emails/Web pages.
  10. Avoid using unsecured, unknown Wi-Fi networks. There may be rogue Wi-Fi access points at public places used for distributing malicious applications. If it is needed to connect to an unknown network or public Wi-Fi, avoid performing any financial transactions such as NEFT/RTGS, etc. or working on sensitive data/information.
